And, of course, unpredictable weather! Winter sweeps over our island unrelentingly, making it necessary for travellers to pay close heed to the dynamic conditions at hand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bonus&#8230;<\/strong><br>Did you also know that it is the season when radiant Auroras can be seen dancing across the sky as the<em>&nbsp;Northern Lights season<\/em>&nbsp;runs from 1st September, through winter, until mid-April? But after a complete overhaul, it has been reborn as a chic food hall loved by locals and visitors alike. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reykjavik Old Harbour<\/strong> &#8211; <em>about 30 min from the hotel <\/em><br>Apart from being a nice place to walk with great views across the bay to Mount Esja, the Old Harbour area is where you can find the majority of marine activities, such as whale watching tours. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Harpa Concert Hall <\/strong>&#8211; <em>about 20 min walk from the hotel<\/em><br>Glittering like a jewel on the downtown waterfront is Harpa, Reykjav\u00edk&#8217;s new concert hall and conference centre. The building is home to national cultural institutions like the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and the Icelandic opera as well as other performing arts. <gwmw style=\"display:none;\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hallgr\u00edmskirkja <\/strong>&#8211; <em>12 min <gwmw class=\"ginger-module-highlighter-mistake-type-1\" id=\"gwmw-15748519805347047379997\">wal<\/gwmw>k from the hotel<\/em> <br>Hallgr\u00edmskirkja is Iceland\u2019s largest church and Reykjav\u00edk\u2019s most notable landmarks.
